The month long event showcases over 300 films from across the world, numerous workshops and special events designed to unite Independent filmmakers and film fans in a relaxed and casual setting where communication and collaboration are encouraged.


Independent Film Month offers entertainment for everyone. For attendees who love short films from all over the world, we present the Atlanta Shortsfest.  Love blood and guts? Atlanta Horror Film Festival was created for lovers of all things horror. For those who prefer a taste of real life, IFM brings you our annual documentary film festival, DocuFest Atlanta. Finally, for those who enjoy ultra-independent off-beat films, the  Atlanta Underground Film Festival is the place to be.


Georgia is currently experiencing unprecedented growth and development in film production. Independent Film Month helps solidify Georgia's reputation as a great place to shoot, market, and premiere small and large-budget productions while highlighting our enthusiastic spirit for the art of filmmaking.
